Dear Friends in Christ,
October brings with it the beauty of autumn in full color—bright leaves, crisp
mornings, and the steady reminder that change is part of God’s design. As we watch
the seasons turn, we are reminded of the words of John 1:14: “The Word became
flesh and lived among us, full of grace and truth.”
Grace and truth—two gifts we need in every season of life. Grace welcomes us just
as we are. Truth guides us into the life God intends. Together, they shape our walk
with Christ and call us to live with compassion and integrity in our world.
This October, I am excited to share a new way to connect and grow together: a
weekly podcast titled “Grace and Truth with Pastor Bev.” In each episode, I’ll be
reflecting on scripture, faith, and everyday life—always holding together God’s
grace and God’s truth.
The podcast will be available beginning this month on Apple Podcasts and YouTube
Podcasts. My prayer is that it will be a resource for encouragement, a tool for
learning, and a way for us to extend the ministry of Mears UMC beyond our church
walls.
As the leaves remind us that seasons change, let us hold fast to the One who does not
change—the God who is faithful, merciful, and true. May we listen for His voice,
whether in worship, in scripture, or perhaps even in a podcast episode, and be shaped
more fully into the likeness of Christ.
With grace and peace,
Pastor Bev
