So here we are – time for the old adage – will March come in like a lion or a lamb? If you’ve been keeping track of the weather roller coaster that we’ve been on it’s supposed to be nice on March 1st. That would mean that the March should come in like a lamb. However, we do live in Michigan and if we don’t like the weather here, as the saying goes, “wait 5 minutes”. It sure has lived up to that this crazy winter! So, if March comes in like a lamb then it should go out as a lion.
I think that this is spot on for this year because Easter will be on March 31st! We will celebrate the one who is the sacrificial lamb on Good Friday, but will be raised on the third day as the Lion of Judah – the resurrected King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Wow, we have so much to celebrate on that special day!
This year for Maundy Thursday we are going to do something completely different. We will be having a “Love Feast” which is part of our Methodist heritage – it is basically a potluck. However, after the potluck we will wash hands/feet for those who would like to participate (it’s not mandatory), and then we will share in communion. What did the Lamb of God do on his last day on earth? He washed the feet of even the one who would betray him. It will be a very special day and I hope that you’ll look forward to it as much as I do. And keep dancing!
